TESTIMONIALS
I ordered the Muck Vac pond vacuum and I wanted to give you feedback about how great it performed. I have a 6,000 gallon pond and it took approx. 45 minutes and the whole bottom was spotless. This is much easier than draining the entire pond or using a shop vac. Plus my wife collected the water coming out of the hose into a bucket to put on our plants. Thanks for carrying such a great product that actually works as advertised and costs only $69."

Muck Vac cleans your pond without straining or bailing

Muck Vac Cleaning System utilizes the laws of fluid dynamics simply with a standard garden hose. The Muck Vac is an easy and versatile vacuum cleaner for ponds and spas, etc.

Muck Vac Cleaning System is easy to use and assemble. Operated by the existing water pressure in most residential faucets (50 psi is usually standard), Muck Vac can suck up most muck and waste from the bottom of any pond or spa. In fact, higher water pressure can create more vacuum power.

Muck Vac Cleaning System will not cause turbidity. No need to displace fish or plants. Muck and waste is vacuumed up the telescopic pole and discharged right out the end of the discharge hose. You can allow it to discharge into a bucket, deck drain or right onto the lawn or garden. The Muck Vac does not add any water into the pond or spa. The water from the garden hose is used purely for creating the vacuum’s suction. However, some water will be displaced from the pond or spa along with the muck and waste.

INSTRUCTIONS

VACUUMING AND CLEANING TIPS (download pdf)

1. Attach garden hose to the Muck Vac Body, making sure the ball valve is in the closed position.

2. Attach the telescoping pole end with the plastic sleeve to the Muck Vac body.

3. Attach the vacuum head to the Muck Vac Body. NOTE: The Muck Vac works with or without the vacuum head or brush. Try it both ways to find out what is best for your pond, fountain, spa or pool.

4. Attach the 1-1/4” discharge hose to the other end of the telescoping pole. Be sure the hose cuff is securely on. The unit is complete and ready to start cleaning.

5. Turn on the water supply and place the Muck Vac Head into the body of water that is to be cleaned. Now turn the ball valve to the ON POSITION.

6. The Muck Vac should start to suck the dirty water out immediately UNLESS your water supply pressure is 50 lbs. or less. Then you may need to PRIME unit. PRIMING UNIT: This is done by lowering the discharge end of the pole close to the ground while keeping the other end submerged into the body of water to be cleaned. This should start the power siphon action needed to vacuum efficiently.

7. If #6 is unsuccessful, prime the entire unit by submerging the discharge end of the muck vac hose into the water and allow it to fill up with water.
Holding your hand over the end of the discharge hose cuff, remove from the water and off to the side of the pond. The siphon action should now begin. *

*If you have followed the instructions completely and still cannot get the Muck Vac started, then you most likely do not have adequate water pressure, there is a 1/2 hp booster pump available that you may purchase seperately through Northern Tool. The Wayne 1/2 hp portable pump boosts water pressure by as much as 40 lbs. Item #10945. Call(800)221-0516.

TIPS

VACUUMING AND CLEANING TIPS (download pdf)

1. If your pond, etc. is very dirty, remove large debris with a swimming pool style leaf rake to avoid clogging inside the Muck Vac head, body, pole or discharge hose.

2. Holding on to the garden hose and Muck Vac telepole will prevent hoses from tangling.

3. Discharge debris onto your lawn or garden area. If this is not desirable and your discharge hose is not long enough to reach a patio drain, use the Muck Vac Hose Adapter included with your Muck Vac System and attach another length of 1-1/4” swimming pool hose (available at most Swimming Pool Supply or Home Improvement stores).

4. If your pond or fountain is draining to quickly and you do not want it to because of fish, you may do one of two methods.

FIRST: You may break the suction of the Muck Vac by lifting the head out of the water, and hold it over the pond or fountain. (NOTE:When you lift the head out of water the suction action stops and the waste water hose will flow back into pond unless you hold telepole vertically.)The water supply will exit from vac head until the pond or fountain is full again. In order to start cleaning again, insert Vac Head back into body of water. You might need to PRIME Muck Vac again in order to start power siphon action again.

SECOND: Shut water supply from garden hose off and then you may break the suction of the Muck Vac by lifting the head out of the water. (NOTE: The dirty water inside teletpole and discharge hose will flow back into pond if you do not keep vac head ABOVE drainage area or patio drain.)Disconnect garden hose add more water, then proceed to PRIME and clean again when pond or fountain is full again.
